3 Nations Cup, Round 3

Zolder, Belgium

The final round of the 2014 3-Nations-Cup was held at the 2015 UCI World Championships venue, Zolder Circuit in Belgium. Both Liam and Axel participated with the goal of trying to score points for Germany.

On the Saturday, only the Challenge classes raced. Axel had not had a very good experience at this track at the begining of the year at the opening round of the European League, so was looking to try and find some form on the track. He managed to take a moto win and qualify through the 1/4's, semis and into the finals where he pulled off a superb win in the boys 15/16 class, beating the newly crowned European Champion in 16 boys as well as the world #2 in boys 15.

Sunday saw both boys in action and Axel again worked his way into the qualifiers. Liam had had a big crash during training on the Saturday evening, so was still showing the battle wounds, however lead the current Jnr Men World Champion down the first straight in his first moto, and came home second. An outside gate in moto 2 saw him cross the line in 4th. in Moto 3, contact with another rider in the first corner saw him crash, and cross the line in 6th, leaving him with too many points to qualify through, ending his 2014 international season.

After getting into the finals again, Axel raced a good race, only to be beaten on the line, finishing 4th. Another good race and weekend, cosing off his 2014 international season on a high.
