BMX is our passion.
The opening 2 rounds of the 2015 German Bundesliga Series were held on our old home track, Weiterstadt, set in the south of Hessen. This track is known as one of the top rated in Europe, and it held up to its reputation by producing some exciting racing over the weekend, despite the everchanging and challenging weather conditions.
On Saturday, Liam and Axel came up against some fast competitors in the new "mixed motos" system, but stayed strong and worked their way into the semi-finals. A good start from both saw them move straight to the front of the pack, with only club team mate Daniel Schlang managing to edge his way in front of them. A close race for the first three all the way to the line saw Daniel finish first and Liam and Axel coming home 2nd and 3rd respectively. A great result in the top class.
After the wet Saturday which had light drizzel all day, everyone was happy to see the sun out and drying the surface of the track. Again the mixed motos saw some interesting duels, but both boys worked their way through the motos, into semi's and again into the Finals.
From gate 2 Axel had a cracker start , and went into the first corner challenging for second. On the exit, he unclipped, causing mayhem behind him, with riders all changing direction to avoid hitting him. All riders came through unscathed, but the first two, Louis Blumlein and Fabien Otto had opened a gap. Liam managed to get through the traffic well and pursued the two leaders, crossing the line 3rd. Axel recovered and had to chase down the pack and managed to work his way up to 5th by the time he crossed the line. Overall a great result for both, leaving Liam leading the points table and Axel in 3rd overall.
