BL Erlangen 2014

BMX BUNDESLIGA, Rounds 5 & 6

Erlangen, Germany

Rounds 5 & 6 of the German Bundesliga series were held on the Bayern track in Erlangen. The Club has a long history and many successful riders.

Saturday the riders were greatful to have a dry track, despite the forcasts being for rain.

In the boys 15/16, Axel was not qite coming to terms with the modified track (since the last race held there) and also had difficulties with the super slow start gate. He still managed to qualify through to the finals where he managed to pull off the win.

Liam raced together with the Elite class, and worked his way into the finals, where he raced to an excellent 3rd, being the first Jnr across the line.

On Sunday the heavens opened, and wet conditions faced the riders.

Again Axel battled to come to terms with the gate, and in the third moto hit the gate, then unclipped, but still managed to race his way to the front. Getting to the finals, another slower gate saw him battling it out with fellow team rider, Kai Stindl, and Axel went for the pass in the second corner, but on the exit made contact with Kai's rear wheel and went down.

Liam again raced his way into the finals, and after a good start lead the pack until unclipping over the second jump. Saving it he chased hard and was rewarded with another third.
